mr. terrific and so many more

mr. terrific, the first-ever gay african american superhero, comes to arrow this season in addition to a million other heroes invading the cw including vandal savage. can't wait for the fall season to start!

the new flash poster

i'm really starting to think that the flash will be the greatest comic book tv show ever.

the flash returns to tv

the flash looks way better than arrow. definitely watching this in the fall.

the new flash costume

i am loving the new flash costume. it's very new 52 with a dash of CW. i might become obsessed with the new TV show if it gets picked up.

wally west zooms back into dc comics

it's seriously about time for wally west to be introduced into the new 52.
i'm waiting for a full titans team though.
dc really messed up by not having all of the original titans introduced into the new 52 two years ago.
hopefully, the summer will bring a wally west, nightwing, cyborg, roy harper and starfire team-up at least.

the flash is coming!

barry allen is heading to starling city and i am so ready for that. i like arrow, but it's not my favorite show in the world. it is a little bit like smallville and needs something to amp up the superhero presence beyond speedy. hopefully barry will help.

the hollywood reporter has a sweet article with all the deets.

@DC_Nation twitter contest

dc comics is using social media in an exciting way finally. the company started a blog (the source), joined twitter (@DC_NATION) and became active on facebook last year.

this year, they have breaking news, con panel updates and this week, a twitter contest.

twitter users tweet an answer to a question and the first five correct answers win a signed copy of flash #1 by geoff johns (!!!). today's question was the secret identities of the flash's rogues. it had alot of responses, too!

successful comic book marketing is hard to come by due to the very niche market. i love dc's use of social media marketing and wish i could have used the current social media marketing tactics in my capstone class since their social media last year was lacking!

study break

i haven't been blogging this week due to increased working lately, finals and mad freelancing...now i'm back with a quick update before my database marketing final tonight.

these are two covers i came across on the source that i am obsessing over:

i pretty much love the new extended flash family. its pretty funny that three dead characters are back alive. comic book deaths just don't last. jesse needs to decide if she is a speedster or liberty belle. she changes her mind weekly. i hope impulse grows as a character in the new flash series. i don't understand why she isn't marketed to a younger demographic seeing as how she has a very limited back story and her stories can easily be deemed in continuity. get with the kid friendly comics, dc.

the blue/yellow theme in batman and robin is my favorite art concept lately.

i'll be back to regular updates as soon as this quarter is over.

the source weekly cover round up

flash as a blue lantern. SWEET LIFE.

a reinterpretation of the classic green lantern cover.

its official. the fifth world is here. i'm wondering if the new gods will go by orion, barda and mr. miracle.

love the spectrum fighting the parallax infested hal jordan.

oh yeah, batman?

impulse/kid flash/flash

i'm a little behind on posting the young justice costume changes over the years, let's move onto bart allen:

orginally bart was the immature impulse

bart as the mature kid flash

bart as flash after one year later

and now hes back to the kid-flash costume since little irey west took over the impulse mantle and there's two flashes already as seen in this week's flash: rebirth #5:

picture from the weekly crisis.

best issue of the week is...

flash: rebirth #5.

its all about legacy.

as dc approaches its 75th anniversary, they establish who is connected to the speed force and they disconnect one member in this issue.

i've been trying to find a scan of the newest speedster: impulse! as soon as i find one, i will post it. its a nicely played reference to possible future storylines as seen in the kingdom and we know i LOVE elseworlds stories.

be sure to pick it up.
