new justice league line up revealed.

this beautifully laid out ad appeared in this week's DC books. i gotta say the only qualm i have with this line up is the guardian. i just don't like his character. i love that batman (dick grayson), donna troy, cyborg, and donna troy are growing up. its about time they stop being titans.

cover of the week

another amazing cover for jla: cry for justice this week. not only is it my cover of the week but, the story increased in greatness as well. i've always been fascinated by congorilla since he is completely underused and i really knew nothing about him. i love the use of captain marvel and i wish tempest was on this team...

in other news, i have alot of updates that i am going to write about at some point today, probably after work. i should probably be getting to bed now.

sdcc: new justice league book

an updated justice league book is much needed since i don't care for the current for the past year. good thing that dc comics announced it at this year's san diego comic con.

so far the announced members include:

• green lantern / hal jordan (i wish it was kyle)
• mon-el / superman replacement
  
• donna troy / wonder woman replacement
  
• batman / dick grayson
• congorilla

i am thinking the rest of the line up includes:

• red arrow since the rest of the teen titans are on the team.
• starfire since well see the description above.
• flash since...the same as the above.

the shadows clearly highlight an archer and a streaky figure in the air. it could possibly be ice but, i just don't think so. if donna and dick jumped ship from titans to join a league, they should obviously be polite and join the other hard hitting titans. the titans needed to grow up and perform legacy roles in team books to show their maturity and lifelong unity. hal can act as their mentor and congorilla can be the awkward plastic man character.

i hope the team goes by the name of justice titans. it would be very superman/batman.

i am obsessed with this cover for september's justice league: cry for justice. mauro cascioli did a great job. i wish there was a version of this with just green lantern. i love prometheus and i'm glad he is back!

comic book recap

it was an exciting week in comic books.

gotham gazette: batman alive? was great. vicki vale is up to something with her little connection bulletin board. that should add some drama to upcoming storylines by trying to prove the secret identities of the batman family. the gala scene allowed the tension between barbara and dick to be seen as well as the immense scarring of poor tim.

the ad campaign associated with the upcoming batman and robin is pretty basic. i have only seen the internet banner ads for it. the use of the bright colors plays on the much discussed lighter feel of the book. batman (dick grayson) is going to be more sympathetic/calmer where robin (damian wayne) is going to be more intense/violent. it is a complete role reversal and i can't wait. in other news, a new world's finest is on its way for later in the year. i CANNOT wait for interaction between tim and kon-el. if they add in a moment of meeting between tim, kon-el, cassie, and bart...it would be perfect. classic teen titans.

the firing of dwayne mcduffie from jla is probably for the best. i haven't really been feeling the book lately. i prefer the big 7 and i know they are all busy in their own books dealing with the dead coming back(gl & flash), being dead (batman, aquaman, and martian manhunter), moving to a new planet (superman), or playing with manazons (wonder woman). i just don't care for the shadow cabinet, milestone, firestorm, dr. light, or vixen. sorry for the honesty.

a full work week starts tomorrow. yikes.

matty collector exclusive

legion of superheroes in bruce timm fashion. gimme now...please. these are going to be uh-mazing. they are released via matty collector on may 15. an ad for action figures...i wonder where this is placed. i am sucha huge nerd and i've never seen it in wizard so it must be in kids' magazines. what about the big kids, mattel?

i am slightly addicted to the more obscure jlu figures or ones that have tie-ins from outside sources. i am craving the batman beyond three pack. words cannot describe my love for the batman beyond earth.

i should probably preorder this four set before it sells out...

mattel is dying for a sell out for their older jlu lines. on sale figures? i'm at target asap. they just have to be the ones that i don't have and do want! likeliness? slim to none.
